Funders
Your support makes our mission possible, thank you for helping us create lasting impact. These are some of our supporters.
Walmart
The Walmart Foundation, established in 1982, is the philanthropic arm of Walmart dedicated to strengthening communities where the company operates by creating opportunities for people to live better.
Together with Walmart and Sam’s Club, it provides billions in annual cash and in-kind donations—over $2 billion in FY2025—focusing on key areas such as creating economic opportunity, advancing sustainability, and uplifting communities through initiatives like hunger relief, education, health and human services, and environmental programs.
Eastern Bank
The Eastern Bank Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Eastern Bank, one of the region’s largest corporate foundations, dedicated to building stronger, more equitable communities across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. For more than 30 years, it has invested in nonprofits and initiatives through grants, volunteerism, and advocacy, focusing on economic inclusion and mobility, community vibrancy, affordable housing, workforce development, education, health, hunger relief, and support for historically marginalized groups.
It provides a range of community donations and larger Impact Grants to 501(c)(3) organizations, combining financial support with efforts to address systemic barriers and promote long-term prosperity. With a track record of substantial giving (including over $240 million since 1994) and consistent recognition as one of Massachusetts’ most charitable companies, the Foundation partners with local groups to tackle pressing issues like food insecurity, homelessness, and workforce access while embodying its “Join Us For Good” ethos.
Cummings Foundation
Established in 1986 by Joyce and Bill Cummings of Winchester, Massachusetts, is one of the three largest private foundations in New England.
It has awarded more than $600 million to date—primarily to nonprofits in greater Boston and eastern Massachusetts (especially Middlesex, Essex, and Suffolk counties)—through a unique model where profits from Cummings Properties’ commercial real estate (donated by the founders and managed pro bono) are directed entirely to charitable giving.
The foundation supports a wide variety of organizations across four major areas, focusing on the communities where its colleagues and clients live and work; it now awards tens of millions annually (with plans for further increases) via a competitive grants program involving community volunteers. Bill and Joyce Cummings, early Massachusetts members of The Giving Pledge, emphasize ongoing, impactful philanthropy to strengthen local nonprofits.
